About our Shop
Our shop is situated in the High Street of Old Town, opposite the Lawns Gates. You can either park in the Co-op, or just pull up outside if you’re just popping in!
The shop was designed and built especially to be a Cupcake Shop, with an area at the front for the customers, a large display for the cupcakes and a kitchen out the back where all the magic happens…!
Each and every cake we make is hand-made. Come into the shop, smell the cakes being baked, and see us decorating them too! We use Kitchen Aid mixers, and commercial ovens, so are able to bake 150 cupcakes in only 30 minutes! No order is too big. We also love a challenge, so feel free to ask if you have an order last minute, and we will see what we can do!
Come try our
If you order a cake, you can rest assured that it is baked especially for you, to your specifications. All our buttercreams and decorations are made on-site, for an all-round home-made cake-eating experience.
We have many flavours of cupcakes which we sell over the counter, and also a variety of tiffins and traybakes. We decorate the shop with seasonal window displays, and create themed goods during different times of year. See all of our latest creations on our Facebook Page. You are also welcome to order cakes too, for corporate events, weddings, birthdays, parties, baby showers, christenings, and all celebrations. These will all be hand-made for you, and can be collected from the shop ready to be eaten. We also supply cafes too, so can produce wholesale cakes and bakes if you require.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
GlamoRose cakes is a local business, run by Jessie Dennis, who graduated from University in July 2011 with an Art Degree. The company began by supplying cakes to small shops and cafes, along side running a weekly Saturday market in Newbury, but in just the first year, we expanded into our own Cupcake Boutique in Old Town Swindon, where fresh cupcakes are available daily and the smell of baking is present up and down the High Street!
Now we are three years in, and GlamoRose has continued to thrive. At the end of 2014 we were joined by the lovely Charlotte, who now works full time in the shop. Charlotte’s flair for baking and passion for making yummy concoctions has been a massive asset to the company, and combined with Jessie’s creative streak, the two of them have had a great time inventing new products and flavours for you all to try.
This year, we are planning to organise more workshops and parties for those interested in learning more about cake! We have just launched a new Cupcake Decorating Party range, where having Afternoon Tea is an option, with sandwhiches, treats and squash served out of Vintage china!
We have also just invested in an edible printer, which makes corporate logos and edible photo cakes so much easier to produce. We aim to increase our work with corporate orders this year, as creating professional-looking displays for events and business meetings is becoming a growing trend.
We are so proud to be part of the community too – Jessie is a member of the Old Town Association, and involved in creating varying events throughout the year, including the famous ‘Sausage & Ale Festival’, as well as managing all the members and encouraging other businesses to join. We are looking forward to improving Old Town for all shops and businesses over the coming year, and love to be involved with other small business owners who are working equally as hard, and just as passionate as we are about the area.
As a final note, we just want to say a massive thank you to all our lovely customers. With your support, kind words and love of cake, you have made GlamoRose what it is today, and we are so grateful. We love to hear all your heart-warming stories, and watch families grow from engagements, to the Wedding, to Christenings and first birthdays! We look forward to another year of smiles and edible challenges in 2016!
